Institue for Northeast Asian Development
Northeast Asia is poised to lead the world in the 21st century. The Institue for Northeast Asian Development (MADI) was launched in 1997 to lead the upcoming Northeast Asian era. Through comprehensive and overarching research on the political, economic, social, and cultural aspects of major Northeast Asian nations, MADI aims to spearhead the internationalization of the Incheon region and elevate Incheon National University into a world-class institution.

Institute of Social Sciences
Established in 2012 by integrating five existing research centers within the College of Social Sciences (Research Institute for Community, HRD Research Center, Peace and Unification Research Institute, Media & Information Education Center, and Crisis Management Research Center), the Institute of Social Sciences aims to realize the vision of the 21st-century global Songdo era based on academic exchange and organic networking in social sciences. The institute conducts various academic activities covering all areas of social sciences, survey research, and policy development projects commissioned internally and externally. It publishes the Journal of Social Science, a national-scale professional academic journal, twice a year. Leveraging Incheon’s regional advantages, it is emerging as an outstanding research institution with global competitiveness through local community cooperation projects and program development.

Established in 1982, the Institute for Sports Science Studies aims to improve athletic performance and coaching leadership, advance physical education and sports, and enhance national physical fitness through research on sports and physical education and the dissemination of its findings. The institute contributes to the sports science community by carrying out research on physical education improvement, athletic performance enhancement, lifetime fitness and national physical fitness promotion, journal publications, academic seminars, hosting academic conferences, inviting distinguished professors for lectures, and supporting affiliated research projects.

Incheon Studies Institute
Established in 2002, the Incheon Studies Institute aims to systematically research the historical, cultural, and social identity of Incheon, elucidate the realistic dynamism of Incheon society from a humanistic perspective, and present a future vision for urban development. Its priority projects include synthesizing and systematizing Incheon-related research outcomes, supporting local researchers and source materials, and supporting history and culture education in Incheon. It also regularly holds academic seminars to deeply discuss Incheon-related topics and expand research methodologies. Its research results are published to local and national academic communities through publications such as Incheon Studies, Faculty Journal, and Incheon Studies Sourcebook Series.
