The educational goal of the Dept. of Health & Kinesiology is to provide students with systematic academic theoretical courses and practical courses to train health and fitness professionals, clinical exercise professionals, and sports entrepreneurship professionals who are expected to increase in acceptance in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
To efficiently achieve educational goals and design a career path, the department offers students three different tracks: Health and Fitness, Clinical Exercise, and Sports Entrepreneurship.
The Health and Physical Fitness track provides the required theoretical coursework for the Health and Fitness Manager, Life Sports Coach, and ACSM CPT/CGXI certifications and specialized practical coursework such as PT. It produces quality health and fitness professionals (Personal Trainers, Strength & Conditioning Experts).
The Clinical Exercise track aims to develop leading clinical exercise professionals (Clinical Exercise Physiologist, Exercise Rehabilitation Exercise Physiologist, Exercise Rehabilitation Specialist, Athletic Trainer, etc.) in the field of health and sports medicine by providing in-depth theoretical and practical coursework (AT) required for the Health Exercise Manager, Clinical Exercise Physiologist (KACEP), Athletic Trainer (KATA), and ACSM CEP certifications.
The Sports Entrepreneurship Track provides theoretical coursework and practical experience necessary to cultivate experts who will lead the creation of future food products related to the development of sports coaching and related services, sports marketing, and bio- and athletic rehabilitation-related equipment by understanding bio/sports industry consumers, analyzing bio/sports-related market trends, and cultivating the ability to utilize Big Data.
A track-related certification is the Sports Management Executive Certificate.
