Introduction
In the Dept. of Ethics, students learn eastern and western philosophy and ethics, applied ethics and theories and practices of ethics. Today, Korean society has confronted social and moral disorder and national division; at the same time, the world is facing a serious crisis of environmental destruction. Thus, the department endeavors to make students develop the morality which is the basis of new values, the moral theory and the ability of ethical practice. By doing so, we aim to foster ethical leaders of our society.
Goals
Korean society is facing the chaos of social and ethical belief and the division of South and North Korea and the world is faced with a critical situation of destruction of the environment. The department’s objective is to nurture ethical leaders who can lead our society by fostering moral sense which is the base of creating new values that can overcome social problems by reestablishing moral theory and by nurturing the ability to practice ethical beliefs.
