Natural science is the study of universal laws present in natural phenomena. Through its research processes and outcomes, it broadens the realm of shared human knowledge and enriches human life. Furthermore, natural science serves as the foundational discipline for all engineering, playing a crucial role in the emergence and growth of advanced innovative technologies. Presently, with the rapid advancement of internet and artificial intelligence technologies, the cycles of innovation birth and development are significantly shortened. Consequently, the importance of fundamental scientific research, which underpins these advanced technologies, is escalating, forming the cornerstone of national competitiveness.
The College of Natural Sciences at Incheon National University focuses on nurturing interdisciplinary talents with outstanding problem-solving abilities demanded by future societies, not only through fundamental education but also through applied research. Currently, 45 professors from five departments (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Marine Science, and Fashion Industry) are dedicated to education and research in classrooms and laboratories, aiming to advance the academic development of future generations. Since its establishment in Incheon in 1979, Incheon National University's College of Natural Sciences has evolved into the second-ranked institution in the national public comprehensive university category in the 2023 JoongAng Ilbo University Evaluation.
Despite its short history, Incheon National University's College of Natural Sciences has developed into a leading institution in education and future research in Korea. Our members strive not only to satisfy this achievement but also to compete in contributing to the local and national society by nurturing outstanding talents and advancing scholarly development for the benefit of future humanity.
