Incheon National University (President Park Jong-tae) announced that Professor Chung Chae-kwan of the Department of English Language & Literature received the Achievement Award from The Korea Association of Secondary English Education. This is the result of being highly appreciated for his outstanding leadership and service spirit throughout the society's activities.

Since its foundation in 2007, The Korea Association of Secondary English Education has established itself as the largest academic organization specializing in secondary English education in Korea. More than 500 experts, including English-related professors, teachers, preservice teachers, instructors, and researchers across the country, are participating and publishing "Secondary English Education", an academic journal registered by the Korea Research Foundation. In addition, academic workshops, seminars, and academic conferences are held every year to share research trends in English education at home and abroad and actively promote academic information exchange. 

Professor Chung Chae-kwan was recognized for his contribution to enhancing the academic status of the society and leading active exchanges between members while serving as the 9th president of The Korea Association of Secondary English Education. In particular, the dedicated effort and volunteer spirit for the development of secondary English education were a great model for the members of the society.

Professor Chung Chae-kwan said, "2025 is an important year when the 2022 revised English curriculum will be introduced in earnest in the school field," adding, "We will continue to make efforts to establish a stable new curriculum." Through this, substantial changes and innovations are expected to be made throughout the secondary English education community. 

In the future, Incheon National University and the Korean Association for Secondary English Education will continue to make efforts to promote academic development in the field of English education and to build an academic ecosystem that helps teachers, researchers, and students alike based on mutual cooperation.
