Incheon National University's Department of German Language & Literature said it held a ceremony to present a plaque of appreciation to mark the 30th anniversary of Professor Michael Menke's service in the conference room of Incheon National University's Faculty Hall on December 5. The event, attended by all professors and students of the Department of German Language & Literature, delivered a plaque of appreciation and bouquet of flowers expressing respect and gratitude to Professor Menke, who has contributed to the development of the Department of German Language & Literature over the past 30 years. Lee Kun-sang, president of the College of Humanities, who attended to celebrate the occasion, delivered a heartwarming congratulatory message, saying, "He always remained silent and consistent, doing his best to educate and cultivate his students and became an example." 

Professor Menke has been working at the Department of German Language & Literature at Incheon National University since 1994 and has been giving lectures on German, German regional studies, and European commerce for 30 years, striving to improve students' German and introduce German culture. In particular, he has provided opportunities for students to grow into experts in the German language and Germany by planning visits to European companies in Korea, lectures by prominent German-speaking people, and German culture experience programs every semester. In addition, he has devoted himself to the development of the school and department by visiting a German university that has signed an exchange agreement with Incheon National University every year during vacation, meeting with exchange student representatives, and encouraging students from Incheon National University who are studying as local exchange students. 

In addition, Professor Menke is gaining great trust externally by serving as the head of the Lektoren-Vreinigung Korea LKV, which teaches German at Korean universities, and publishing journals on teaching and learning German. On the same day, Professor Menke responded with a bright smile, expressing his feelings on the 30th anniversary of his service in the Department of German Language & Literature at Incheon National University along with a photo of his memories.
