Incheon National University said President Park Jong-tae joined the "Bye Bye Plastic Challenge" to reduce plastic use on the 29th.
The Bye Bye Plastic Challenge is a campaign that began in August last year by the Ministry of Environment to reduce unnecessary plastic use and encourage the use of multi-use products for environmental protection and is spreading nationwide. President Park Jong-tae participated in the challenge after being nominated by Inha University President Cho Myung-woo, and recommended Cho Seung-yeon, director of Incheon Medical Center, as the next runner.
President Park emphasized the practice of 10 habits for Bye Bye Plastic, such as refraining from using plastic for a sustainable future, refraining from using multi-use products, refraining from using unnecessary vinyl, and using recycled products, saying, "I participated in this campaign to participate in reducing plastic in daily life."
President Park also said, "With continued interest in national environmental issues, Incheon National University is participating as a technology core institution for the environmental sector's Kangso R&D Special Zone Project secured by the government in 2022 based on the university's technology and capabilities, and is conducting various projects and research, including the White Bio professional research manpower training project," adding, "The university will also practice it to pass on a clean environment to future generations in the face of the climate crisis."
